The Blauensteiner winery is located in the idyllic wine city Gösing in the upper Wagram Region. The terraces on which the grapes of this region grow are dominating the landscape. Löss is dominating the soils of this region and together with the warm pannonian influence and the cool winds from the Manhartsberg in the north it is an ideal spot to make harmonic and well balanced wines.
The most important variety is the Grüner Veltliner with more than 50 % of the vineyards but Blauensteiner also cultivates Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Zweigelt and some other varieties. In the emerging wine region Wagram Leopold Blauensteiner will be one of the winemakers to watch.
