In 1983 Franz Prager was one of the initiators of the association Vinea Wachau, which ultimately helped the area to create its special status under the Austrian regions. Meanwhile, his son-in-law Toni Bodenstein (a trained geologist) is responsible for the winery and produces very soil-based mineral wines.
His style (only steel tanks and short yeast contact) provides unique, delicately fruity, mineral and aristocratic wines. This of course goes particularly well with his Rieslings. He earned special attention for his "Wachstum Bodenstein”, a very delicate Riesling with finesse that grew on a very high altitude. Vineyard area: 15 hectares | |
