rotWEISSrot stands for a modern combination of the classical vinotheque, the factory outlet concept and the increasingly popular online trading. Our clients are mainly private wine lovers but besides that we also supply restaurants and resellers.
The Munich-based wine expert Gerhard Biber, who has been intensively engaged with international and austrian wine for decades, is the person behind this idea. Since opening his shop in April 2003 he is fully dedicated to spread the word about the up-and-coming wine-growing country Austria.

People do make a difference: we are a truly family-run business, striving to make your shopping tour as enjoyable and successful as possible. Besides owner Gerhard Biber and his wife Marianne the two adult sons Alexander and Christoph are involved to meet this demand. When it comes to composing the product line or expansion of the company all decisions are concluded within the family.
We know all our winemakers in person and purchase our wines directly from the wineries exclusively. We care a great deal about value-for-money and down-to-earth consultation, so we regularly taste all of our wines as well as keep looking for new ones to offer you the best deals in Austrian wine. Gerhard Biber
He developed his knowledge about wine in many tastings and by travelling to wine regions throughout the world. Born in Austria and living in Munich since 1972 he decided to use the sales experience he gained in the IT-Business to launch an independent wine business in 2003. At rotWEISSrot he is responsible for sales and consultation, the wine selection as well as administration and accounting.

Marianne Biber
Born in Rheinland-Pfalz and living in Munich since the 70ies Marianne is our contact person for all kinds of events (workshops, wine tastings, etc.) and for individual gift packages. Her main responsibility is purchase, so she is always in very close contact with our winemakers.

Christoph Biber
Our youngest family member joined the wine business in 2007 after graduating and working in the hotel and restaurant sector as well as spending a work-and-travel year in Australia. Besides having an important role in the wine selection, Christoph is responsible for marketing including newsletters, flyers and our online shop. He is currently studying for a Diploma in Wines and Spirits in Rust, Austria.
